Step a board a comfortable turbine helicopter and take off for a once in a lifetime experience. Your knowledgeable and experienced pilot will take you via Kaikoura's unique whale sanctuary on a scenic flight to deeper waters on the search for whales.

Your first spotting of a whale will be an unforgettable and exciting moment. From your aerial vantage point you will be able to see the whale in its entire beauty, from tip to tail. Your pilot will slowly orbit around the majestic mammal, to get you the perfect photo opportunity. Only a helicopter will get you that close!

Whilst enjoying panoramic views of Kaikoura's stunning coastline and the famous Seaward mountains, you might see Humpback, Southern Right, Blue, and the year round resident Sperm Whales. Kaikoura's rich waters are also home to Dusky Dolphins and New Zealand Fur Seals.

As a fully Department of Conservation (DOC) permitted operator, South Pacific Whale Watch has access to exclusive landing sites with views over the Kaikoura Whale Sanctuary and the Hikurangi Marine Reserve. They are a locally owned and family operated business with the only emergency pop out float equipped aircrafts of the region.
