Andrew was a very knowledgeable and funny guide, and we were lucky enough to hear about his experience as a prosthetics artist on all three films. I did the full day tour- the experience would be better if the afternoon went lunch and then rivendell and the anduin, as we did eat lunch a bit late. I had lots of questions but was sat at the back of the bus, so if you are curious, try to sit more front of the bus. The tour would be better if we went down to get photos from angles more similar to the film - several locations e.g. harcourt park we stood above the site but didn't go down into it, but this may have been because there were some older/less mobile folks in our group and the sites were down a hill. The Victoria Park sites would probably have been better done without a tour for this reason as they are on google maps and we skipped one (Frodo's reading tree) so I didn't get to see it as I flew out the next day. But the stories we heard were great. Rivendell would have been quite underwhelming and difficult to tell, as would the Anduin, if we didn't have Andrew there to talk us through some locations. Perhaps the company needs to offer a half day tour of the second half. Also learned some fun facts about Wellington which we wouldn't have otherwise.
We were picked outside of Te Papa and had a great day as we visited the different locations around Wellington. Our family loved it and Andrew was an awesome tour guide. Worth it if you are LoTR fans.
Thanks for your review and recommendation! Andrew is definitely an asset to the team and, having worked on the movies, has plenty of knowledge to share.
Loved it from start to finish. Our guide was really knowledgeable and passionate not only about the LoTR saga, but also about the local flora and a load of interesting behind the scenes. Very recommended!
Thanks for your review. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed your tour with us. Our guides are full of information, and we always like to include a bit about Wellington for those people who aren't so much in to Lord of the Rings. We like to think there's a bit of something for everyone!
Loved how it was organised, our tour guide was really great, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared for the group. Food was awesome too!
